As part of the many Nickelodeon original productions that Paramount+ brought back in the last couple of years, including major hits like iCarly and Zoey 101, it was confirmed that the popular comedy starring Thompson and Mitchell would have its long-awaited sequel, and now fans can finally enjoy the first teaser for the film coming to the streaming platform this fall:

According to the official description, Good Burger 2 “follows Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) and original cashier Ed (Kel Mitchell), as they reunite in the present day at fast-food restaurant Good Burger with a hilarious new group of employees.”

Joining the two mains stars will be Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, Kamaia Fairburn, Alex R. Hibbert, Fabrizio Guido, Elizabeth Hinkler and Emily Hinkler as Cindy and Mindy, and Anabel Graetz as Ruth. Good Burger original cast members Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg, and Carmen Electra will also participate in the sequel. The movie is directed by Phil Traill.

Good Burger first originated as a spinoff movie for All That, a Nickelodeon comedy series that consisted in several sketches in which both Mitchell and Thompson starred. They also were part of another successful Nickelodeon series from the era, Kenan & Kel, which ran for four seasons from 1996 to 2000.

What Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell Been Up To Since the Original Good Burger?

Paramount Pictures

Both Kenan and Kel have become popular actors and comedians since a very young age when they joined the Nickelodeon universe, which was mainly made for and by teenagers, as that was the target audience for the network back then.

Kenan Thompson began his career on the big screen at the same time as on the small screen, participating in D2: The Mighty Ducks. He had some other relevant roles in movies like Big Fat Liar, Snakes on a Plane, and some voice parts in projects like The Smurfs, Trolls and The Grinch. But there is no doubt that his time on Saturday Night Live is something that has marked his life. He joined the acclaimed show in 2003 and is still a major part of the cast, while also doing some side projects, many times even playing himself.

Kel Mitchell, for his part, had his television debut in All That, while his first film was the original Good Burger, so his time at Nickelodeon has been the most significant in his career, being part of other iconic shows such as Sabrina the Teenage Witch and The Amanda Show, besides some more recent productions from the network like Henry Danger or The Thundermans.

However, he also has other outstanding titles in his filmography, such as Clifford the Big Red Dog, The Proud Family, and SpongeBob SquarePants. Kel was also part of the All That in 2020 revival, also participating as an executive producer.

Good Burger 2 will premiere on Paramount+ this fall.
