Kelis Refuses to Address Those Bill Murray Relationship Rumors

One of the most unexpected rumors to emerge recently involves singer Kelis and actor Bill Murray. On social media last week, both were trending when it was reported that Kelis, 43, and Murray, 72, had started dating. It’s something that Murray hasn’t commented on publicly, and while Kelis is active on social media, she hadn’t addressed the rumors one way or another. That changed following a post on Instagram on Saturday where the “Milkshake” singer shared a photo of herself in a bikini along with the caption, “I’m a beach bum.”

As fans want to know more about Kelis’ reported relationship with Muray, one top comment on the post states, “Ma’am would you care to address these Bill Murray allegations?!? Cuz damn! What he doing with all that?!”

“lol no babe, I wouldn’t bother at all,” Kelis responds, refusing to either confirm or deny the rumors.

Bill Murray and Kelis Reportedly Bonded Over Losing Their Spouses

While it’s not entirely clear if the relationship is romantic or platonic, Murray and Kelis reportedly bonded over losing their spouses in recent years. What’s also known is that the two have been spending some time together recently, with Murray seen watching Kelis’ show in London recently from the side of the stage. The actor is currently in town to film the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel. He’s also said to have been spotted at other shows, according to reports.

“They’ve met up in the States before which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they’re both here. They’ve clearly hit it off,” a friend is quoted as saying, per The Sun. “They were both seen at the same hotel, and he’s been to watch her perform several times before he went to Mighty Hoopla. But they’ve also both shared relatively recent bereavements and have that common bond between them.”

Murray was previously married to Margaret Kelly in 1981, and the pair had two children together before getting divorced in 1996. He married his second wife, Jennifer Butler, in 1997, but the relationship ended in divorce in 2008. The couple had four children together. Butler passed away in 2021 at the age of 57.

Kelis married rapper Nas in 2005, and they were divorced in 2010. They share a son, who’s now 13 years old. She later married Mike Mora in 2014, and the two were together until Mora’s passing from stomach cancer in March of last year. He was just 37 years old. Kelis and Mora had two children together, a seven-year-old and a two-year-old.

“It’s been exactly a year… that’s crazy to me,” Kelis said in March of this year in an Instagram post. “I’m a very private person generally, especially when there is family involved. But there is no denying the impact and evolution my husband’s passing has had on my life.”
