London’ Is Getting a Trilogy

recently is getting a sequel. Likened upon release to a Fast and Furious-style thriller with a controversial romance at its center, the movie proved to be a major hit with audiences despite some scathing reviews from critics. Clearly, the critical response will not stop the franchise from trying to step up a gear in a follow-up.

Released on Amazon Prime Video back in February, My Fault: London proved to be a surprise hit on the streaming platform. Now, the romance thriller, which is itself a remake of the hit Spanish-language Culpa mía (My Fault) franchise, will not only get a sequel, but two sequels, wrapping up with a trilogy.

The Culpa mía movies were adapted from author Mercedes Ron’s Wattpad novels, with My Fault: London transporting the romance and action from Spain to the streets of London, England, Amazon has now confirmed that My Fault: London will continue with sequels Your Fault: London and Our Fault: London. Directing duo Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler will be back behind the camera for the initial follow-up, with lead stars Asha Banks and Matthew Broome returning to their roles as star-crossed lovers Noah and Nick.

Despite Some Scathing Reviews, ‘My Fault: London’ Was a Huge Hit With Audiences

Directed by Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler and written by Melissa Osborne, My Fault: London stars Asha Banks, Matthew Broome, Eve Macklin, Ray Fearon, Sam Buchanan, and Jason Flemyng. The romantic thriller was likened to an “amateur” Fast and Furious by some due to the inclusion of street racing, but is really more of a romantic drama centering on a somewhat controversial relationship between the step-siblings. “When Noah’s mother, Ella, falls in love with the very wealthy William, the two move from America to London to live with William and his son Nick. Upon arrival, the 18-year-old Noah meets bad boy Nick, and there is an immediate attraction between the two. Noah spends the summer adjusting to her new life, making new friends from Nick’s various circles, and navigating a complicated relationship with him while they fight to keep the attraction at bay. But unbeknownst to Noah, her estranged father has been released from prison and starts tracking her every move. Noah will ultimately be forced to deal with her devastating past while falling in love for the first time.”

My Fault: London was a huge hit for Prime Video upon release, climbing its way to the #1 spot on the streaming charts. Though clearly popular with audiences (as reflected in its 88% score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter), the movie was mauled by several critics, with Jennifer Green of Common Sense Media saying, “As one character notes, the film has a lot of “bad boy clichés,” not to mention a predictable YA romance formula.” Courtney Howard of Variety, meanwhile, concluded that My Fault: London “plays as if a teen Jackie Collins wrote an illicit romance between two cantankerous step-siblings set in the worlds of “The Fast and the Furious” and “Never Back Down.” If that sounds chaotically messy, it’s because it is.”
