New Image Gives Good Look at Valkyrie’s Thor: Love and Thunder Costume

Thor: Love and Thunder is on the relative horizon with a release date of this summer, and a new image of Tessa Thompson has revealed a better look at her new Valkyrie costume. The costume was previously hinted at in merchandise and wrap-gifts from the upcoming Marvel movie. The image was seemingly taken by Thomson herself and was subsequently shared by the Twitter user @ReginaBenavid18, and fan account @loveandthundernews, and shows Thomson’s Valkyrie with a new hairstyle and a return to her sleeveless look with a black and white design that certainly catches the attention.

The first time we saw this design was on a picture of a t-shirt wrap gift which was shared a few months ago, and also on a poster revealed for sale in a store that was not the official movie poster but was an official poster nonetheless. Valkyrie has obviously taken over the role of Queen of Asgard role from Thor, and that would likely mean an upgrade of armor to match the position. With Thor, Valkyrie and Jane Foster’s The Mighty Thor contending with a universe threatening Gorr The God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder they are going to need all the snazzy outfits they can lay their hands on.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

There is very little known about the plot of Thor: Love and Thunder, but there are a few things that can be garnered from the comic books when it comes to the movie’s villain and how some of the movie could pan out. Gorr of the comics is intent on wiping out all of the gods from existence, and as well as putting him on a collision course with Thor, it is also likely where Russell Crowe’s character of Zeus comes into it. Another interesting angle on the character is that he carries with him the Necrosword, a mystical weapon that was forged by Knull, the god of the symbiotes, which gives a very tangible link between Gorr and Venom, which could come into play at some point now that there is a small piece of the black symbiote in the MCU.

Fans are awaiting the arrival of the latest Thor adventure with great anticipation considering this is the fourth solo outing for the God of Thunder, Taika Waititi is once again back to direct and the movie also features the return of Guardians of the Galaxy members Peter “Star-Lord” Quill, Drax, Mantis and Nebular. If all of that is already known, the real question is how much more is there still to be revealed, as we know that Marvel doesn’t like to shoot all of their bolts in one go and there are likely to be a few more surprises in store.

Currently, Marvel fans are awaiting the arrival of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in May, and potentially the Disney+ Moon Knight series, and there is every possibility that one of the post-credit scenes could well give a teaser of Thor’s return in a similar way to that done with Spider-Man: No Way Home. No doubt we will start to hear more about Thor: Love and Thunder in the coming months and with the current momentum of the MCU, it is likely to be another huge hit when it arrives in cinemas on July 8th, 2022.
