Although fans of DC content have come to think of MAX as the home of the likes of Batman, Superman, and others, there are now some DC TV shows and movies that will have to be sought out elsewhere.

MAX Has Dropped Many Animated Projects

Warner Bros

While there are a lot of projects on the list, it is worth noting that the majority of the projects that have been purged from MAX are animated, including last year’s Scooby-Doo and Krypto Too – which was almost never released at all when Warner Bros. attempted to scrap the crossover movie as part of their cost-cutting write-offs.

In addition to these, the other movies that have been dropped from the platform are the heavily criticized Ryan Reynolds movie Green Lantern and Halle Berry’s Catwoman. However, the ever-popular Keanu Reeves movie Constantine has also joined the list of casualties, despite the ongoing talk of a sequel being in the works.

Recently, Warner Bros. Discovery has changed their business model when it comes to their most popular content. Although the DCEU movies, and many older projects such as The Dark Knight trilogy by Christopher Nolan, the original Michael Keaton Batman movies, and Christopher Reeves’ Superman collection, have remained on the platform, these movies have started popping up on other services such as Hulu, Disney+ and Netflix depending on the viewer’s location.

Related DC Fans Lament the Canceled Batgirl Movie From Bad Boys 4 Directors Following the release of the first Bad Boys: Ride or Die trailer, DC fans are calling for the release of Adil & Bilall’s Batgirl movie.

Although it is unlikely that MAX will remove any of its most popular shows and movies, there will be a new wave of DC projects hitting the platform in the coming years with James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU ready to start pushing out its content. In the meantime, fans of the projects that have been removed can expect to see at least some of these show up on license across other streamers in the near future.
