7 Things to Remember Before The Ark Season 3 Premieres

A lot went down throughout The Ark Season 2, ending with the crew finding a place to call home.

Homebase 1 started off as a questionable location, but after figuring out what was going on with those in charge, Ark One found a home.

Not all of them are staying put, though, as there are still others from Earth out there looking for a place that’s safe to land.

With so much going on, it’s important to remember the most important facts and events, as they’re the ones that are sure to come up throughout The Ark Season 3.

Ark One Is Now Separated

Not everyone chose to remain on Homebase 1, but nobody was forced to leave if they wanted to stay.

Sharon decided that she couldn’t remain on the planet in good conscience, knowing that two Arks were still out there unaccounted for.

She wants to find Arks 10 and 14, and that means taking a small team out with her.

This means we’ll get split storylines, focusing on the Homebase 1 situation and on some of the crew back in space.

It also means romances are put on hold, as two main couples have decided to go their separate ways to follow their sense of duty and heart.

The two doctors remain behind on Homebase 1, which could hint they’re needed more there to find a cure for some alien disease than they are in space.

Ark One Got a Distress Signal

The Ark Season 2 ended with a major cliffhanger, which sets up the story for The Ark Season 3’s premiere.

After leaving the planet, Sharon decided it was time to test the new long-range radio, and sure enough, contact was made.

It just wasn’t the contact they hoped for.

A distress signal from Ross-128 came through, telling everyone to stay away “before it’s too late.”

Considering how Sharon and others have headed straight into danger, despite being told to stay away, we’re sure to see the Ark One crew head to Ross-128 to find out what’s going on.

Evelyn Maddox Is Dead

The woman who proved to be the biggest threat to humankind throughout the first two seasons of The Ark is no more.

Her own daughter, Kelly, killed her, marking a huge moment for the younger character.

Kelly made it clear that she was done being a puppet controlled by her mother, and she wanted to prove her loyalty to the crew that was giving her somewhat of a chance.

In a way, the decision shouldn’t have been too surprising.

Felix Was Reunited With His Daughter

There was a happy ending for Felix.

After learning that his husband had been killed on an Ark that left after his, Felix feared the worst for his daughter.

However, he kept pushing forward, knowing that his husband wouldn’t have just left their daughter, Catherine, behind.

It meant Catherine had to be out there somewhere, and he was reunited with her when they got to Trappist-1B, which is now Homebase 1.

There was a moment when Felix nearly lost his daughter, as Maddox took her to keep Felix under control, but he got her back.

Now we’ll get to see Felix step up as a father.

Angus Found an Alien Tablet

After helping to keep everyone on Ark One alive with his green thumb, Angus decided to remain on Homebase 1 when Sharon’s team left.

He was last seen digging around the planet beyond the boundary that has already been tested and sanitized, where he came across some sort of alien tablet.

It’s written in a language that nobody recognizes, and it’s sure to set up an intriguing arc as The Ark Season 3 moves forward.

One thing nobody really asked when they landed on the planet was who used to live there.

What happened to the original people of Trappist-1B, and why did they leave? Could the tablet give them the answers?

Lieutenant Spencer Lane Made the Ultimate Sacrifice

The Ark Season 2 saw an unexpected and heartbreaking death in the form of Lieutenant Spencer Lane.

This did come after some major reveals, including the fact that he, like Sharon, is a clone.

Reece Ritchie pulled double duty for a while as both Spencer and Ian — and it turns out that there was a third one somewhere out there — and they were all separated when young.

Spencer couldn’t quite deal with that revelation, especially considering his hatred for clones, but it led to a change of heart and attitude.

Sadly, during The Ark Season 2 Episode 9, Spencer was gravely injured while Ark One tried to broker a peace with the Eastern Federation. Ian is still around.

Ian and Sharon Lived a Happy Life Together in a Coma World

When Spencer Lane’s clone, Ian, and Sharon ended up in a coma, they found themselves falling for each other.

In fact, they got married and enjoyed a life together while the rest of Ark One found a way to wake them from the coma.

After they woke, they still remembered everything that they had been through, although Sharon pushed Ian away due to the overwhelming feelings of the coma and of losing Spencer.

Ian chose to remain on Ark One after Sharon asked for volunteers, and he is now Head of Life Support, which could open the door to a blossoming romance.

The Ark Season 3 premieres July 29 at 10/9c on Syfy.
