Born Again Fan Poster Brings Back Netflix Dark Style for Marvel Studios Show

Summary

  • Fans can expect Marvel Studios to maintain the dark and violent style of the Netflix Daredevil series in upcoming projects like Echo and Daredevil: Born Again.
  • The announcement of Marvel Spotlight, a new division within Marvel Studios, indicates a focus on grounded stories and character development, separating it from the rest of the chaotic MCU.
  • Marvel’s intention to stay true to the deep, tragic, and violent nature of the Man Without Fear comic books is good news for fans who enjoyed the gritty adaptation by Netflix and were disappointed by the character’s appearance in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

A new piece of fan art for the long-awaited Daredevil: Born Again shows how the Marvel Studios series can still maintain the best elements of the successful Netflix show, not only its main stars.

It’s been a long time since Charlie Cox surprised the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by taking the stage at San Diego Comic Con to announce his return as Matt Murdock after the cancelation of the Netflix series. A lot has changed since that moment, but the return of the Man Without Fear is creeping ever closer, but there is still a long way to go until we see him on the Disney+ fighting crime on his own.

Even with Cox set to appear in the upcoming series, Echo, fans have been setting to work to image what Daredevil’s own series could look like, and what the main differences will be from the Netflix version. Artist AGT Design, for example, is confident that Marvel Studios will keep the dark and violent style of The Defenders Saga, even though the MCU will be looking to put its own stamp on the character.

On Instagram, the artist published a poster that resembles the visual style of the Netflix adaptation, but brings together Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, along with Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez aka Echo.

With Echo featuring both D’Onofrio and Cox, there are many who believe the show will have a direct connection to the story of Daredevil: Born Again. However, that is something we will have to wait a little longer to find out.

Marvel Studios Announcing the Spotlight Banner Is Good News for Daredevil: Born Again

Netflix

Earlier this year, after the release of the first trailer for Echo, Marvel Studios revealed that the series would belong to a new division within the company called Marvel Spotlight, which will have a different focus from the rest of the franchise. The projects that are developed within this banner will focus on the development of the characters, with more grounded stories, moving away a little from the rest of the MCU and its chaos of the multiverse.

This announcement has received positive responses from Daredevil fans, especially those who were worried about the character becoming part of the strictly PG-13 offerings from Marvel Studios under Disney’s watchful eye. However, has already been confirmed that Echo will be very different from the previous MCU TV shows, something that will also be reflected in Daredevil: Born Again.

Seasons 1

The Man Without Fear comic books are mainly characterized by delivering deep, tragic, dark and extremely violent stories, something that Netflix managed to adapt very well. Marvel Studios’ intention of following that same road is good news for those who were hoping to see something similar to what Netflix did. It is certainly a far cry from the jokey and heavily criticized appearance by the character in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, one of the most divisive MCU projects of the last several years.
