Born Again Star Hints at Possible Second Season in the Works

Vincent D’Onofrio recently hinted that a second season of Daredevil: Born Again may already be in the pipeline. This Disney+ series will feature the same actors who starred in Netflix’s Daredevil show, with D’Onofrio reprising his role as Wilson Fisk (the Kingpin) and Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdock (Daredevil). The Born Again storyline, which serves as the inspiration for the new series, finds Daredevil’s secret identity exposed, and his life destroyed by his arch-nemesis, Kingpin. The storyline is known for its dark and gritty tone, which made the Netflix series a hit with fans.

He shared that the show will be “quite different” from its Netflix counterpart. Furthermore, D’Onofrio alluded to a long-term vision for the series, potentially encompassing the development of a second season, where he teased “gigantic payoffs” for fans.

“And, by the second season, there are gigantic, gigantic payoffs—in the first season, too, but I can’t say much about that—but the fans are gonna really get what they want. It’s really quite cool to be doing it.”

Charlie Cox Hopes Karen Page Will Return in Daredevil: Born Again

Netflix

Daredevil: Born Again has been making waves in the media lately, with fans eagerly anticipating the return of their favorite characters. However, according to recent reports, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Karen Page and Franklin “Foggy” Nelson in the Netflix series, will not be reprising their roles in the new series. On a more positive note, it has been confirmed that Jon Bernthal will be reprising his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again. Bernthal’s portrayal of the character was widely praised for its intensity and depth, and his presence in the new series is sure to add an extra layer of drama and excitement. The Punisher is a complex character who operates outside the law, and his interactions with Daredevil are sure to be explosive.

During an appearance at GalaxyCon, Charlie Cox, the actor who played Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Netflix series, spoke about his desire to see the character of Karen Page return for the upcoming Disney+ series. Cox stated that “there’s only one Karen Page”, referencing the character’s ongoing and often dramatic relationship with Matt Murdock. The actor also expressed his desire for Matt Murdock to continue exploring, as he believes there are still many stories to be told in the Daredevil universe.

“I would like for Matt to continue exploring because there’s a lot of fun stories to tell still… if you’re a true Daredevil fan I feel like there’s no escaping that there’s only one Karen Page.”

Daredevil: Born Again is expected to premiere on Disney+ in early 2024.
