‘The Terminal List’ Climbs Streaming Charts as Fans Await Spin-off Series

Now that a new spin-off is on the way, action thriller fans have turned back to one of the most popular shows on Prime Video. Starring MCU and Jurassic World actor Chris Pratt2 in the lead as a Navy SEAL who, after returning home, finds himself questioning his memory and the events that transpired on a certain black ops mission, the series is now climbing its way back up the streaming charts.

Based on the novel of the same name by Jack Carr, The Terminal List follows Chris Pratt as James Reece, with the rest of the cast including Constance Wu, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Riley Keough, Tom Hopper, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Jai Courtney, and Taylor Kitsch. The Terminal List was already a huge hit with audiences when it was first released back in 2022, garnering 1.1 billion minutes viewed across its eight-episode first season. Now, with spin-off series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf on the way, audiences are clearly eager to remind themselves of why they liked the show so much to begin with.

‘The Terminal List’ Has Now Sparked an Action Franchise for Amazon

Prime Video

The Terminal List is a project that both actor Chris Pratt and director Antoine Fuqua, who is best known for the likes of Training Day, The Magnificent Seven, and The Equalizer franchise, have been wanting to bring to the screen for some time. At one stage, both were looking to pick up the rights to the novel, with Fuqua previously explaining, “Chris calls me, and he goes, ‘Hey, Terminal List.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m trying to get it.’ He goes, ‘Well, why don’t I get it and then we just do it together?’ I was like, ‘Let’s go!’ It couldn’t have been a better fit.”

Thankfully, despite a divisive response (the series holds a rating of just 40% from critics alongside 94% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes), both Pratt and Fuqua have gotten their wish, with The Terminal List not only sparking a second season, which is now in production, but also a spin-off with the prequel The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. Set before the first series, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is all set to land on Prime Video on August 27, 2025. Starring a returning Taylor Kitsch as former Navy SEAL-turned-CIA agent Ben Edwards, you can check out the official Dark Wolf synopsis below.

“Co-created by The New York Times bestselling author of The Terminal List, Jack Carr, and Season One creator-showrunner David DiGilio, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a prequel series with an origin story that follows “Ben Edwards” (Taylor Kitsch) throughout his journey from the Navy SEALs to the clandestine side of CIA Special Operations. The series is an espionage thriller that explores the darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it. It also features Chris Pratt reprising his role as “James Reece.””
