We had a lot of catching up to do when the Big Brother live feeds finally opened Friday evening.
As TV Fanatic previously reported, Dee won the first Head of Household competition of the summer and celebrated her win by nominating Mallory, Taylor, and Yash for eviction.
Once the feeds came online, the house dynamics quickly started to take shape, and it’s becoming increasingly clear that Mallory is the favorite to leave this week.

From what we’ve seen, she’s largely resigned herself to her fate instead of building the relationships she needs to stay in the game.
That’s rarely a winning strategy in Big Brother, where perceptions can change in an instant.
Dee, meanwhile, appears to be playing a measured first HOH.
Rather than making a flashy move, she targeted three players who don’t seem firmly aligned with any major alliances, allowing her to avoid creating unnecessary enemies during the opening week.

Of course, that strategy only works if the nominations remain the same.
A veto-induced replacement nominee could completely reshape her game and force her to show her cards far earlier than she’d like.
Are Dee and Angela Working Together on Big Brother Season 28?
One relationship that stood out on the feeds was Dee’s connection with Big Brother 26 alum Angela Murray.
As fellow reality TV veterans, it’s hardly surprising they’ve gravitated toward one another.

That said, Angela may want to dial things back a bit.
She seemed determined to insert herself into nearly every conversation on Friday, and being everywhere at once is often a quick way to raise suspicion inside the house.
Taylor also appears convinced that Mallory is the target, but in Big Brother, certainty is dangerous.
With several days remaining before Thursday’s eviction, the target could easily shift if someone wins power or information starts circulating.

That’s especially true this season with the return of the Big Brother Blockbuster twist, which adds another layer of uncertainty to the week and could complicate what currently looks like a straightforward eviction.
Alliance lines also remain blurry. It’s still early in the game, but an alliance formed on Saturday morning ahead of the blackout for the competition.
Angela, Barrett, Dee, Drew, and Rick solidified an alliance, and I think they could go very far together.
Obviously we aren’t privy to everything that happened in the first two days of the game, so there is a possibility that more duos are in play than we think.

But for now, we have one potential dominant alliance, and that could shake things up as the first week of the season continues.
The Veto Winner Can Change Everything
Saturday’s Power of Veto competition brought another important development.
Dee, Mallory, Taylor, Yash, Barrett, and Melody competed for the Golden Power of Veto, and when the live feeds returned, Mallory had emerged victorious.

That result could have major implications for the rest of the week. If the veto is used, Dee will be forced to reveal where her loyalties truly lie by naming a replacement nominee.
If it isn’t, Mallory still appears to be in the most danger heading into Thursday.
Either way, the first week of Big Brother rarely goes exactly as planned.
House dynamics shift by the hour, paranoia spreads quickly, and today’s target can easily become tomorrow’s decision-maker.

Dee may be enjoying a smooth HOH reign now, but the moment her power expires, the rest of the house could start viewing her as one of the biggest threats in the game.
And I’m here for it! Big Brother Season 28 is off to a busy start, and I hope that it doesn’t slow down.
What are your thoughts on the Veto winner and how it can impact the next few days and, of course, the first eviction?
How do you think the Big Brother capsule might impact the week?
