  • Your Honor Season 2 Will Reunite Bryan Cranston With a Breaking Bad Star

Bryan Cranston says he reunited with a fellow Breaking Bad alum in the new season, but he’s not saying who.

Showtime Networks

Fans of Breaking Bad may enjoy a special surprise waiting for them in the second season of Your Honor. Previously, Bryan Cranston memorably played meth cook Walter White for five seasons of Breaking Bad, garnering multiple Emmy Awards in the process. These days, the actor can be seen as the star of the Showtime drama series Your Honor, which will imminently premiere its second and final season.

Speaking about the new season with the New York Post, Cranston spoke about why he decided to come back for another season, even though the plan was for just one season of the show. He also shared that season 2 includes a key role for an unnamed actor from the Breaking Bad universe, and while he isn’t saying just yet who that is, he described this person as one of the “best actors” they could find. From the interview:

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“As a nice little Easter Egg, there’s a very important role of an actor who comes on and is part of the Breaking Bad universe. So it was fun to see that person, and I won’t say who it is, but that person comes on and we have a really cool interaction. We just pulled in the best actors we could find and let them do their thing, and it made for an alchemy that really has an explosive finish.”

Breaking Bad aired for five seasons from 2008 to 2013. Along with Cranston in the lead, the series also memorably starred Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, RJ Mitte, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, Jonathan Banks, Giancarlo Esposito, and Bob Odenkirk, among others. Of course, there’s no telling who Cranston will reunite with in Your Honor.

Your Honor Wasn’t Meant to Last Longer Than One Season

Showtime Networks

Created by Peter Moffat, Your Honor was developed as a limited series. It premiered on Showtime in 2021, scoring very high viewership for the network. This prompted a renewal order, though Cranston first had to speak with Moffat to ensure that they had a good enough idea in mind for another season before he agreed to sign on. Fortunately, it appears that the actor is satisfied with how the story is concluded.

The official description of Your Honor reads:

Bryan Cranston stars as a New Orleans judge who is forced to confront his own deepest convictions when his son is involved in a hit and run that embroils an organized crime family. As a storm of vengeance, lies and deceit threatens to engulf the entire city, Michael Desiato faces a series of increasingly impossible choices and discovers just how far an honest man will go to save his son’s life.

Season 2 of Your Honor will premiere on Jan. 15 on Showtime. Watch the official trailer for the new season below.
