The Boy with My Son’s Face Trailer: Italia Ricci Thrills as a Mom on a Mission

It’s time for another Lifetime thriller!

The network does a fantastic job of not only landing some incredible thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, but also of featuring familiar faces who always inspire us to tune in.

And with The Boy with My Son’s Face, we get both as Italia Ricci stars in a twisted tale of a determined mom on a mission.

We scored the first look at one of Lifetime‘s latest thrillers debuting in March, and we’re already eager to dive into this film!

We’re switching things up from the romantic movies and ones about gal pals, and diving into the type of thriller that has you yelling at the screen.

The Boy with My Son’s Face, a series inspired by a novel: How I Lost You by Jenny Blackhurst.

And the film will star Italia Ricci as Susan Webster, a new mother on the edge after giving birth.

Sleep deprivation has taken over her, as she’s struggled to go to sleep in large part because her son is keeping her up at night.

And she is also a woman who is battling postpartum depression.

After a lot of struggling, it’s Susan’s husband who convinces her to take medication for her depression. But Mark, played by Luke Camilleri, also convinces Susan to hire a nanny.

If you’ve watched enough of these films, you can already guess that this new nanny is probably about to be a problem!

With Amy (Siobhan Williams) taking on some of the work in tending to the newborn, all should be well, right?

Wrong. We’ll soon learn that Susan and Mark’s baby will mysteriously die one evening, and while Susan can’t figure out the nature of what happened to her son, others have their suspicions.

Susan’s postpartum depression, medication, and her inability to remember are the perfect formula for Susan to suddenly become the prime suspect in her baby’s death.

As if losing a child isn’t enough, now she has to deal with the accusations that she’s the person who did something to him.

Apparently, this will result in her conviction for a crime, and it’s only years later, when Susan is paroled, that she can start putting the pieces of her life back together.

Except there’s one problem: she sees a picture of a young boy who looks just like her son!

Now, a woman on a mission, determined to figure out what really happened to her child, Susan will go to extreme depths to resolve this mystery.

And it’ll have her teaming up with her badass, street-smart friend, Cassie, played by Gigi Saul Guerrero.

What Susan will discover is an astonishing web of deception that one could never predict.

And, I, for one, am excited to see the results!

The trailer shows just how much Susan has been suffering from sleepless nights, and it appears her husband is genuinely trying to be supportive.

But we also have to wonder, from the promo, whether there is something untoward going on between him and the nanny, Amy.

He also doesn’t seem the most supportive of her later on, presumably when she’s on a quest to figure out what really happened to their son.

In the trailer, we see the night something happened to their son. You can see Susan holding an empty blanket, disheveled and crying, and when Mark asks her, “Where did you put him?”

She’s sobbing when she says, “I don’t know.”

We can see that Mark firmly believes Susan did something to their son, and his opinion on the matter hasn’t changed.

But the biggest takeaway from this is that they apparently have never found the baby’s body, which certainly gives more credence to the fact that her kid could be alive and out there somewhere.
